TYPRUN is used for special job processing like to scan JOB for syntax errors etc.

TYPRUN used to specify for the JOBs which are not started.

If the TYPRUN submitted with TYPERUN, the JOB will fail.

Syntax:

	TYPRUN = SCAN/RUN/HOLD

Syntax with JOB card:

	//JOB-NAME JOB (ACCT-INFO),’PROGR-NAME’, CLASS=class-name, MSGCLASS=msg-class,
	//             MSGLEVEL (M1, M2), PRTY=priority-number, TIME=10M, REGION = ValueM/ValueK,
	//			   TYPRUN = SCAN, keyword-parameters

SCAN:

SCAN used to check the syntax errors without executing the JOB.

This parameter used to check for:

• Spelling of parameter keywords.

• Invalid characters.

• Unbalanced parentheses.

• Misplaced positional parameters.

RUN:

RUN used to check the syntax errors and then will execute the JOB.

HOLD:

HOLD is used to check the syntax errors and will hold the job for operator to release.

JOB will be in held until the operator explicitly releases it.

HOLD option is very useful when testing series of JOBs.

By default, the job will take it as RUN.
