SYSUDUMP DD statement used to direct the system to produce dump.

System produces the dump when the job abends abnormally.

If the JOB successfully completed, then system will not generate any dump even though SYSUDUMP coded.

SYSUDUMP produces a dump of user areas.

The dump is formatted and readable.

SYSUDUMP dumps are the only user ABEND dumps.


Syntax:

//SYSUDUMP  DD parameter [comments]

Do not place two DD statements with the same dump ddname.


Example:

//STEP2    EXEC PGM=PROG1
//SYSUDUMP DD   SYSOUT=P

The SYSUDUMP DD statement specifies that the dump routed to system output class P.
